What you handle: keep the hive area accessible and report anything unusual. That’s it.
Every four weeks, Andrew visits the property. Visits alternate between two types:
Internal inspection (visits 1, 3, 5…): the hive is opened, frames are pulled, the queen is sighted, brood is checked, mites are measured, treatments applied if needed. 30–45 minutes.
External assessment (visits 2, 4, 6…): the hive stays closed. Flight activity is checked, the hive is hefted for weight, the mite-drop board is inspected, structural condition is confirmed. 15 minutes.
Result: one full internal inspection every 8 weeks plus an external safety check on the off-week.
